Brainspotting
What is Brainspotting?
Brainspotting is a brain-body relational method. It is a powerful, focused treatment that works by identifying, processing, and releasing core neuro-physiological sources of emotional and physical pain, and unhealthy coping mechanisms associated with PTSD and any emotional experience or trauma. It allows the client to channel the healthy "head" knowledge they possess to transform debilitating traumatic memories and the negative beliefs they feel in relation to the incident.
Dr. David Grand has combined the strength of both brain-based therapies and the relationship between the client and therapist into a powerful technique called Brainspotting. It combines techniques from EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) and SE (somatic experiencing). We have been amazed at the permanent and quick healing that clients have achieved.
